Welcome to the Vietnam Trade Information Portal

Viet Nam is rich in history and culture blended from diverse influences that have presided over the country and its people. With a history of thousands of years of national construction and defense, Viet Nam is now being embraced by the world for its magnificent natural beauty including a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, friendly and inquisitive people, and remarkable achievements in socio-economic development over the last three decades.

Since its launch of reforms (Đổi Mới) in 1986, Viet Nam has made impressive achievements in economic growth and social development. It has been among the fastest growing economies globally in the last three decades, with GDP growth ranging from 5.3% to 7.8% annually, transforming Vietnam from one of the world’s poorest to a lower middle-income country. A major contributor to this success is external trade, where export values have often experienced higher growth rates than GDP and accounted for 70-80% of the national economy. Through various trade agreements with major regional and international trade partners, Viet Nam is expected to continue to boost trade and GDP growth in the future.

The Vietnam Trade Information Portal (VTIP) is the official source for all regulatory information relevant to traders who wish to import goods into Viet Nam or export to other countries. Hosted by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the Portal will provide an accessible, logical, helpful window for traders to access important regulatory and procedural information needed to export, import and transit.

VTIP has a rich database and the right side-bar menu features search options for commodities (defined by HS Code), legal documents, procedures, forms, measures, standards and other requirements. Using the top menu, you will easily find useful information about the portal and its content, along with a comprehensive and well-organized guide to export, import, transit processes and procedures in Vietnam.

The Portal is an important step towards improving the predictability and transparency of the country’s trading laws and processes. This initiative is also in line with the government’s commitment to comply with the requirements of the World Trade Organization and Trade Facilitation Agreements.

With thousands of links between its content elements, as well as external links to relevant ministries and online services, VTIP not only presents traders with comprehensive trade-related information, but It also acts as a tool for the Government and other stakeholders to help reduce, modernize and simplify regulations in accordance with international best practice.
